Effects of surface oxygen vacancies on photophysical and photochemical processes of Zn-doped Ti[O.sub.2] nanoparticles and their relationships
Article Abstract:
Ti[O.sub.2] nanoparticles doped with different amounts of Zn were prepared by sol-gel method and the effect of surface oxygen vacancies (SOVs) of Zn-doped Ti[O.sub.2] nanoparticles was investigated. It was found that surface oxygen vacancies (SOVs) easily bind photoinduced electrons to further give rise to photoluminescence (PL) signals and the intensities of PL and surface photovoltage spectrum signals of Ti[O.sub.2] as well as the photocatalytic activity can be enhanced by doping an appropriate amount of Zn.

Effects of simultaneously doped and deposited Ag on the photocatalytic activity and surface states of TiO2
Article Abstract:
Ag-TiO2 catalysts with different Ag contents are prepared through a sol-gel method in the absence of light. The results reveal that the Ag dopant promoted the phase transformation as well as had an inhibition effect on the growth of anatase crystallite.
